Gold ducat K. J. Erben, Kytice - The Daughter's Curse stand

The fourth gold ducat from the seven-part cycle inspired by the Bouquet of Karel Jaromír Erben is dedicated to a poem called The Daughter's Curse.

The Daughter's Curse is the only chapter in Erben's collection that does not contain any supernatural elements. On the other hand, it is dominated by the author's favorite themes of motherhood, guilt and punishment. The lyrical-epic composition takes the form of a dialogue between a mother and her daughter, who killed her illegitimate child. The mother is not angry, but the daughter is shattered by her actions and decides to end her own life. She blames not only her lover, who betrayed her, but especially her mother, who raised her badly and did not protect her from lust. Therefore, she curses both culprits…

The author of the obverse side of the ducat is Mgr. Petr Horák, who was inspired by the depressing atmosphere of Erben's collection while creating the relief. He placed a desperate girl, a child in a wrap, over which a dove is crying, and a gallows hill in the collage. The reverse side, which is the work of MgA. Jan Hásk and which is common to the whole series, then presents a rich puget, in which, in addition to various flowers, a human skull is hidden.

The ducat is set in a special packaging that includes a complete poem. In addition, you can store the seven-part collection in a collector's box.
