Since childhood we are used to connect a four-leaf clover with luck but we often don’t know why. However, this tiny plant attracts us magically and even in adulthood our eyes sometimes wander in a field of clover whether we don’t by chance spot one. One has less luck in life, another more and finds a four-leaf at first sight among thousands of shamrocks (i.e. trefoils).

Czech Mint has decided to facilitate to everyone the search for luck and prepared the issue of a gold ducat with the popular motif for those who were not yet so lucky. According to another possible interpretation four leaves symbolize four elements – fire, water, earth and air and bring also love and money and protect against evil and evil spell. Single women also place a four-leaf under their pillow so that they could see their future groom in a dream. To protect your house against evil forces and yourself from illness, you should – according to a medieval superstition – place a four-leaf at the door, windows and on the bed.
