Gold Ducat SR 2025 - Sissi, beautiful empress proof

Empress Sissi - this is the theme of the fifth Ducat series of the Czech Mint in 2025, which was created for Slovak collectors and investors. The gold ducat features the famous personality as a woman obsessed with beauty.

The beautiful Sissi was obsessed with her appearance and combined a morbid hunger with excessive physical exertion. She loved movement and exercise and had herself weighed several times a day. At 172 centimetres tall, her weight never exceeded 50 kilograms, a tenth of which was her well-groomed hair - brown, thick and wavy - that reached the ground. She spent several hours every day caring for it, and her court hairdresser always had to count how much hair was left on the comb. The Empress had many admirers - from the plebeians to the most noble men. "She has a beautiful white complexion and the figure of a cypress, a majestic appearance from the walk of gorgeous hair to the heel. Her charms make her a real feast for the eyes. Her appearance is a real treat. I told the Emperor, who was sitting at the table next to me. I think he was pleased with my judgement, " said the Persian Shah Nasr-ed-din, who otherwise did not speak highly of European women.

The obverse side of the ducat, which is the work of medal maker MgA. Petra Čánská, presents a bust of the charming Sissi with an intricate hairstyle and exposed shoulders. The reverse side is dedicated to the empress's coat of arms that combines the symbolism of the Habsburg-Lorraine and Wittelsbach families.

The commemorative mintage of only 100 pieces respects the specifications defined by the first Republican St. Wenceslas ducats.
