The first silver coin in a new series featuring the magical creatures of the Harry Potter world features the phoenix Fawkes.

The phoenix is a remarkable magical bird. At first sight, it catches the eye with its red-gold feathers, which can be used as an excellent core for a powerful magic wand. However, it is very difficult to find a phoenix in the wild, and even more difficult to tame. If one succeeds, however, they will have a devoted companion for life. Albus Dumbledore, who befriends a phoenix named Fawkes. The phoenix is extremely intelligent, strong and courageous. He can carry very heavy loads and is not afraid to take on the deadly basilisk. He sings beautifully and his tears heal. He does not die of old age, but bursts into flames and burns to ashes, from which he is reborn in full strength. Thanks to this cycle, phoenixes live for a very long time - perhaps even forever…

The reverse side of this unusual rectangular coin presents the flying phoenix Fawkes. The embossed feathered creature is surrounded by coloured flames. The decorative portal that lines the coin's perimeter is embellished with orange rhinestones. The obverse is then dedicated to the necessary attributes of the issuer, which is the island of Niue - i.e. the national emblem, the nominal value of TWO DOLLARS (NZD) and the year of issue 2023. The coin was minted with official film licence by the New Zealand Mint team.

An elegant etui builds an integral part of the issue.
