Product description

Czech Mint has been minting current coins since 1993. Every year, it also prepares the highly popular sets of such coins issued by the CNB, adding an intriguing collector piece every time. The set of current coins for 2015 in the exceptional high-quality (proof) includes a silver coin with Charles IV. - the motif used on the 100CZK note. The set comes in a luxury suede cover and is made in a limited edition of 2,000 units.

The current coins of the independent Czech Republic were first issued in 1993 and were denominated in 10, 20 and 50 hellers and 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 Czech crowns. The decision to withdraw hellers from the circulation dates back to August 2008. Beginning with 2009, all the sets contain six coins that have never circulated and were minted in the year of issue of the set.

The Charles IV. theme for the bank note was designed by Oldřich Kulhánek and his daughter, the talented graphic artist Klára Melichová modified his design for mintage purposes. The sculptor Vladimír Oppl prepared the relief model. The obverse side of the medal is dominated by a portrait of Charles IV. while the reverse side is decorated with the theme of the Charles University seal known from the reverse side of the 100CZK note. This small hoard of Czech numismatics should not be missing in any sophisticated collection.

The setmakes a perfect addition to one’s collection as well as a great gift on any exceptional occasion related to the year 2015. Make yourselves or your loved ones happy in a valuable and original way!
