Product description

Intangible Cultural Heritage of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, which is better known as UNESCO, presents a list focused on the aspects of culture that are tangible. Particular countries are committed to protect and preserve these gems of unique forms of cultural expression.

The Czech Republic has enriched the list by six exceptional traditions, but due to the diversity of our country and to the devotion  of its inhabitants to old customs, our contribution will be undoubtedly even further. New Smart coins from the extraordinary set by The Czech Mint are dedicated to each of the six distinctive national rarities:

Slovácký verbuňk – Famous improvised male dance from Moravian Slovakia belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2005.

Carnival processions with masks in Hlinecko - Cheerful tradition dating back to the 19th century enriched the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2010.

Falconry - The traditional way of hunting using birds of prey was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2010.

Ride of the Kings - The funeral procession was preserved only in Slovácko and Haná. UNESCO-emerged in 2011.

Tradition of guiding Judas - Easter processions with a masked figure take place only in the Pardubice Region. Belongs to the list of UNESCO since 2012.

Kladruby horse breeding – Kladruby is home of the noble Kladruby horses since the 16th century. A petition for their inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage List took place in 2006, today it belongs there as the only living creature in the world!

These particular traditions are immortalized in sterling silver in the form of beautiful Smart coins whose creative designs for the mintage were magically prepared by Lenka Nebeská, DiS. The reverse side of the coins is always the thematic scene and name of tradition, the obverse side is common for the entire set and features the necessary attributes, together with the issuer`s attribuetes  and English text INTANGIBLE CULTURAL  HERRITAGE - CZECH REPUBLIC (NEHMOTNÉ KULTURNÍ DĚDICTVÍ UNESCO – ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA).  Graciously designed album offers trilingual texts in Czech, English and French, and offers an original and beautiful artistic gift set for your exquisite collection!
