Product description
On 3 August 2015, the academic painter Vladimír Pavlica - sculptor, graphic artist and an excellent medallist – celebrated his beautiful 70th birthday and the Czech Mint prepared wonderful congratulations for him. Set of two silver medals, which freely follows the previous issue dedicated to our leading medallists Jiří Harcuba and František David. Also the new set dedicated to Vladimír Pavlica will certainly attract the attention of any of numismatic experts!
The first of luxurious medals bears a masterful portrait of Vladimir Pavlica on the obverse side. It comes from the academic sculptor Vladimír Oppl`s workshop. The reverse side was created by Pavlica himself and presents the miniatures of his current realizations. A beautiful exhibition of his work in incredibly detailed adaptaion is a real challenge for collectors.
The second medal is the unrealized design for a banking issue of 10 000 CZK gold coin commemorating the 600th anniversary of the burning of Jan Hus. Although the proposal did not win the contest, he was awarded a special prize by the CNB for the outstanding artistic merit. Its mintage was a great artist's wish which the Czech Mint made come true with enthusiasm. On the obverse side shines unusually realized portrait of Jan Hus in flames, the name of the reformer and dates of the anniversary of his martyrdom. The reverse side bears an excerpt from the Master's work Výklad viery (An interpretation of the faith) from 1412, "... seek the truth, learn the truth, tell the truth, defend the truth until death."
The unique set of two medals of pure silver in proof quality of the mintage is ready to evaluate only 70 fine collections! Hurry up with the purchase of this strictly limited numismatic pride!
