Product description

The Star Wars movie saga boasts plenty of exotic extraterrestrial creatures. Some will just bend on the screen. Others will steal each scene in which they appear. Such is Jabba Hutt, who owns another silver coin from the collector's series.

Jabba Hutt is one of the most prominent characters in the Star Wars. But he has almost never appeared in the movies. Star Wars creator George Lucas, imagined a scrupulous cosmic gangster as a repulsive, inhumane creature whose appearance would characterize greed. However, technology at the end of the 1970s, when the first film was made, failed to fulfill his grotesque vision. Instead of an alien, Lucas took the role of Jabba Hutt, but the shots eventually decided not to use it. The giant space slug, then, in all its "beauty" was introduced in the third film and immediately gained the viewers. It was made up of a sophisticated puppet that weighed one ton, cost half a million dollars and required three operators sitting inside. Twenty years later, George Lucas decided to bring his films back to cinemas with new visual effects, and he also brushed off the previously cut scene from the first film, where the actor was digitally replaced by the computer-animated Jabba. And do you know where the exotic extraterrestrial name came from? Answer can be found in Czech language! George Lucas's Jabba Hutt resembled a frog crossed with a snake ...

The reverse side of the coin presents Jabba in his palace on the desert planet Tatooine - enjoying his hookah and enjoying the fun of his court clown Salacious B. Crumb. The obverse side also includes the name and portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the year of the issue 2018 and the nominal value of TWO DOLLARS (NZD), the attributes of the coin issuer, which is the island of Niue. The art form of officially licensed mintage is part of the creative team of the New Zealand Mint.

Each coin is stored in a special wooden box to protect and expose it.
