The silver bullion coin depicting the goddess Durga is the theme for 2024.

Durga is a powerful and celebrated Hindu goddess. Her name can be literally translated as "unapproachable" or "invincible", which indicates her character. She is a fierce warrior - the destroyer of evil demons who dare to tyrannise the world. She is the conqueror of all evil that lurks in our lives and within ourselves. But she is not a mere force of destruction. As protector, she represents the feminine principle - mother, nature and unbridled creative power.

Durga is usually depicted with four pairs of hands holding various attributes - mainly weapons, but also the sacred lotus flower. Her faithful companion is a lion, on which she rides into battle. All this can be found in high relief on the reverse side of the coin. The composition is supplemented with a rich floral decoration, which also dominates the obverse side. As the coin is issued with the foreign licence of the State of Cameroon, it bears its national emblem, the year of the issue 2024 and the nominal value of 2000 FRANCS CFA (XAF) on the obverse side. The dominant motifs of the relief are gilded for contrast.
