Silver coin 2012 cents - 100 years from the sinking of Titanic colored proof

Royal Mail Steamer Titanic was a trans-Atlantic ship designed for the transport of passengers between England and the United States. She embarked on her maiden voyage to New York with 1,300 passengers and 900 crew members aboard. The White Star Line luxury liner, considered by everyone unsinkable, collided with an iceberg and on the night of 14th to 15th April 1912 sank. Only 700 people were saved.
The obverse side of the silver coin struck under New Zealand licence features Titanic at sea and ice floes sticking out of the liner. The composition also includes the effigy of queen Elizabeth, face value of the coin: 2012 cents, and name of the country New Zealand. A new method was used on the background of the obverse side – so-called colouring.
On the reverse side we can see a composition comprising objects fished out of the sea – a compass, a boarding pass and a bell. Years 1912 and 2012 and a legend in two languages around the rim express the 100th anniversary of the sinking of Titanic.
It is worth mentioning that the coin is a legal tender on the New Zealand territory.
