Product description
The two-ounce silver coin with the motif of the samurai code of bushido is an artistic and technical unique and a collector's piece.
Honour, loyalty, courage, respect, self-control, justice, compassion, principle. These were the virtues of men who chose to follow the bushido code and walk the "warrior's path". The Japanese samurai were warriors unlike any other in the world. Nothing could stop them in battle, they were devoted to their master and did not hesitate to die for him. They wielded their two swords - the longer katana and the shorter wakizashi - perfectly, and they did not neglect their spirit. They filled their spare time with self-improvement and cultivated pastimes such as tea ceremonies, playing board games, and composing poems. Their skill, loyalty and scholarship earned them a privileged position and made them the aristocrats who ruled Japan for centuries. However, they never forgot the moral code that governed their attitude to life, death, relationship with their master and other samurai. They never abandoned their fighting spirit or their sense of justice. It is no wonder, therefore, that respect for the samurai has endured to this day. Although the legendary warriors no longer exist, their ideals and way of life continue to attract more and more people...
The reverse side of the coin presents a samurai with a drawn katana. In the background, the sun rises behind him, the symbol of Japan, with the warrior determined to shed blood contrasting with the surrounding landscape dotted with ancient trees and silent temples. The richly decorated obverse side is then dedicated to the essential attributes of the issuer, the island of Niue, bearing its national emblem, the nominal value of 5 DOLLARS (NZD) and the year of issue 2024, all set in high relief and embellished with patina and gilding.
T&S Coin 's issue limit is just 500 pieces.
