The two-ounce silver coin with the motif of the legendary loving couple Caesar and Cleopatra is an artistic and technical unique as well as a collector's rarity.

The Egyptian Queen Cleopatra was educated in mathematics, philosophy and astronomy, spoke many languages and did not hesitate to personally command a war fleet. Although her keen intellect served her political goals, she is often portrayed as a sophisticated seductress who wrapped the most powerful men of antiquity around her finger. She decided to use her irresistible charm on Julius Caesar himself, whose help she needed to keep control of Egypt after her husband died. The story of how she smuggled herself into the Roman commander's chambers wrapped in a carpet has gone down in history. The enchanted Caesar promised to support her, and not only that - he became her lover and the father of her child, whom no one called anything but Caesarion. But their relationship was doomed. In order to remain on the throne, Cleopatra had to marry a pharaoh, and Caesar, who was married to a prominent Roman for a change, was viciously murdered. The hopes of Caesarion becoming ruler of Rome were in vain. The devastated queen then found solace in the arms of another powerful Roman politician, Marc Antony, but even this relationship did not have a happy ending. He brought ruin to Cleopatra and the entire millennial Egyptian empire...

The reverse side of the coin presents Caesar and Cleopatra in a passionate embrace. Among the gilded badges of power, Caesar's ring stands out, set with a real ruby. The iconic architecture of ancient Egypt stands out in the background. The richly decorated obverse side is then dedicated to the necessary attributes of the issuer of the coin, the State of Cameroon - bearing its national emblem, the nominal value of 2000 FRANCS CFA and the year of issue 2024.
