Product description
This silver coin featuring the legendary Mongolian ruler Genghis Khan is a unique work of art and a collector's rarity.
In the 12th century, a boy named Temüjin was born in the endless steppes of Mongolia. He was the son of a small tribe chief, but from childhood he learned the cruelty of fate. When he was nine years old, his father was poisoned by enemies. He and his family were forced into exile, where he knew only misery, hunger, and helplessness. At that time, he swore that he would never be weak again, and he truly fulfilled his promise. He grew up to be a man who achieved the impossible. From the fragmented nomadic tribes that waged endless wars against each other, he created a strong community governed by law and strict discipline. He rewarded loyalty and punished betrayal without mercy. He valued human abilities and did not look at origin. He gave everyone the opportunity to succeed without distinction – regardless of whether they were the son of a chief or a simple herdsman. His charisma and strength attracted warriors from all over the steppe, who saw in him a leader the world had never known before. In 1206, after years of fighting and victories, Temüjin was proclaimed Genghis Khan – an absolute ruler who was a hero and unifier to some, but a scourge to others. Chinese dynasties, Persian metropolises, and Russian principalities trembled before him. His feared horsemen overthrew entire empires and killed an incredible one-tenth of the world's population...
The reverse side of the coin depicts Genghis Khan riding a horse, with a bird of prey sitting on his forearm. His power is emphasized by the rich gilding of the relief, and in the background behind him are not only Mongolian yurts, but also a magnificent oriental palace. The obverse side is dedicated to an inexhaustible array of weapons, revealing that the coin is part of a series dedicated to legendary warriors. As the coin is issued under the license of a foreign issuer, the island of Niue, its obverse side also bears the necessary attributes – the national emblem, the nominal value of FIVE DOLLARS (NZD) and the year of issue 2024.
The issue limit of the coin by T&S Coin is only 500 pieces.
