This silver coin featuring the legendary military commander Gaius Julius Caesar is a unique work of art and a collector's rarity.
The Roman Republic, governed by tradition, the Senate, and the power of the people, had been a pillar of order and law for centuries, but it was shaken to its foundations when a man whose ambition knew no bounds appeared on the scene. His name was Gaius Julius Caesar, and he wanted to achieve immortality. An eloquent master of intrigue, he dominated Roman politics and defied the Senate's monopoly on power. A brilliant military leader, he subjugated Gaul and was the first Roman to penetrate Britain. But even that was not enough for him, so he committed the unthinkable – he took up arms against his comrades and unleashed a civil war. At the end of the war, Caesar became the sole and undisputed ruler of the Roman state. Unfortunately, he did not enjoy his triumph for long – a group of conspirators who hoped to restore the republic plotted his murder. However, the dictator's death ultimately led to the outbreak of a new round of civil wars. At the end of these wars, the famous republic ceased to exist and the Roman Empire rose from its ashes. Caesar was declared a god and his name still resonates today in the form of the highest royal titles – emperor, tsar, cesarz, kaiser, kajser, etc.
The reverse side of the coin depicts Caesar with a fierce expression, a sword in his fist and a laurel wreath on his head. His majesty is emphasized by the rich gilding of the relief. The obverse side is dedicated to an inexhaustible array of weapons, revealing that the coin is part of a series dedicated to legendary warriors. As the coin is issued with the license of a foreign issuer, namely the island of Niue, its obverse side also bears the necessary attributes – the national emblem, the nominal value of FIVE DOLLARS (NZD) and the year of issue 2023.
The issue limit of the coin by T&S Coin is only 500 pieces.
