Product description

Mr. Spejbl celebrated his 90th birthday in 2016 with his son Hurvínek. Sorely missing a mother to tame their mischievous sons and to manage his confused paternal practices. A helping female hand was thankfully provided by their neighbors Mánička and her granny Mrs. Catherine. As a thanks for their tireless efforts to civilize the bachelor household, the Czech Mint devotes a final issue of a series of three silver Smart coins.

An exemplary and inquisitive schoolgirl Mánička is Hurvínek's best friend, and as such, despite her good manners, she often participates in his mischief. Thanks to her naivety, she is just as often its target. Mrs. Kateřina Hovorková takes care of her - a talkative elderly lady, who, because of her teaching career, is partial to the decency and order. Her old-fashioned and idealized ideas are usually met with a crazed reality, that does not follow the curriculum. Ms. Kateřina has a weakness for Mr. Spejbl, but her feelings remain unrequited.

The author of the artistic design of the silver coin, as in the case of the previous two puppetry issues, is  an experienced medaillist Irena Hradecká, DiS. The reverse side is dominated by the bespectacled portraits of the two immaculate intellectuals, that are complemented by their names.

The licensor for issuing the Smart coins is the Pacific Island of NIUE and therefore you find the following essential elements on the obverse side: the name and portrait of Queen Elisabeth II., the nominal value 1 DOLLAR (NZD) and the year of issue of the coin 2016.

If you have purchased the coin Hurvínek and Žeryk, you have received a commemorative album, into which Mánička and Mrs. Kateřina can move.
