The series of commemorative coins with the Star Wars motifs has been introducing heroes who are known by every fan. Now, however, it introduces an army of anonymous stormtroopers in pure silver.

The word stormtrooper was derived from the German term "Sturmtruppen" called as "strike units" during the First World War. The members of these divisions were at the forefront of assaults on impassable trenches, and therefore had to demonstrate a high degree of initiative and courage. George Lucas chose them as the elite space soldiers who spread the will of their emperor across the galaxy. He was also inspired by the events of the Second World War when created the Galactic Empire and provided the stormtroopers with the Nazi ideology. He completely suppressed their individuality, dressed them in a uniform white armor and covered their faces with iconic helmets reminiscent of gas masks. Stormtroopers were feared, cruel and did not hesitate to terrorize the innocent civilian population. If one of them died, his fellow soldiers continued to fight.

The reverse side of the coin presents the semi-structures of two stormtroopers armed with blasters on board of the Death Star. The obverse coin belongs to the issuer, which is the Pacific island of Niue. Its attributes are the portrait and the name of Emperor Elizabeth II, the year of the issue 2019, and the nominal value of TWO DOLLARS (NZD). The officially licensed mintage was made by the New Zealand Mint's art team.

Each issue is stored in a luxurious box that will not only protect the coin but also expose it elegantly.
