New seven wonders of the world

The fifth issue of the series of the Czech Mint, which is dedicated to the new seven wonders of the world, is reminiscent of the Brazilian Statue of Christ the Redeemer. This special product will be especially appreciated by investors. The entire package contains one troy ounce of gold, but divided into ten identical coins. When you want to monetize only a part of your investment, you can break the package and sell it in pieces...

The youngest member on the list of the new Seven Wonders of the World is the Statue of Christ the Redeemer. The foundation stone of this work was laid in 1922 - on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Brazilian independence from Portugal - and the consecration ceremony took place in 1931. The Christian monument stands at the top of the Corcovado mountain, which towers over the city of Rio de Janeiro. The gigantic statue weighs 635 tonnes and, including the base, measures 38 metres. The main material used was reinforced concrete, which was transported to the top of the mountain by a railway that originally served tourists. The mortar used contained unusual ingredients - sugar and whale blubber. The outer layers of the sculpture are made of talc, which is white, easy to work and durable. Jesus, with open arms embracing and protecting the Brazilian metropolis, can be seen from far away. Christian pilgrims or tourists who want to visit the Messiah must first climb to a height of 710 metres above sea level. From the terrace at the base of the statue, they can enjoy a breathtaking view of Guanabara Bay, Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, Maracanã Stadium and Rio de Janeiro-Galeão International Airport. It is no wonder that the statue has become a symbol of Brazil and a modern wonder of the world.

The reverse side of each coin, which is the work of medal maker Ludmila Kracíková, DiS., presents a statue of Christ the Redeemer. The detail of the monument is supplemented with the English inscription CHRIST THE REDEEMER. On the obverse side, which is common to the whole series, all the new Seven Wonders of the World appear - the Brazilian statue of Christ the Redeemer, the Jordanian rock city of Petra, the Mayan city of Chichén Itzá in Mexico, the Roman Colosseum, the Indian monument of the Taj Mahal, the Inca seat of Machu Picchu in Peru and the Great Wall of China. As the coins of the Czech Mint are issued with the foreign license of the island of Niue, they also bear its national emblem, the nominal value of 5 DOLLARS (NZD) and the year of issue 2024 on the obverse side.

Ten identical coins are sealed in a special packaging. This is perforated so that it can be conveniently divided into ten parts if necessary.

Note: The packaging is covered with foil to prevent damage during transport.
