Product description

"Czech Lions" – investment coins from the Czech Mint – serve to invest money in precious metals, but their elaborate relief also attracts anyone who wants to expand their numismatic collection or give an exceptional gift. The beauty of the silver coin with the year 2026 is emphasized by selective gold plating. The coin is also numbered on the edge.

Because investment coins are primarily a financial instrument that can change hands many times during their lifetime, they are usually minted in so-called standard quality. The surface of such coins is matte, has a long life, and is resistant to damage. However, thanks to their attractive patriotic design and low mintage, Czech Lion investment coins are also popular among collectors, who will appreciate their top-quality proof finish. This delicate finish, which is many times more difficult to produce than the standard finish, is characterized by an attractive contrast between shiny surfaces and matte reliefs. Another contrasting effect is achieved by selective gold plating. Selected details of the coin are precisely covered with a layer of gold, which gives the silver coin an unusual appearance.

In 2026, the investment coins entered their 10th anniversary year. They received a brand new relief and a new designer, but their reverse side continues to be dominated by the two-tailed Czech lion – a realistic depiction of the symbol of the nation, wearing the St. Wenceslas Crown on its head. The walking beast is the work of experienced medallist Vojtěch Dostál, DiS. As the coins of the Czech Mint are issued under the licence of a foreign issuer, the island of Niue, their obverse side bears its necessary attributes – a portrait of King Charles III, the nominal value of 2 DOLLARS (NZD) and the year of issue 2026.

The silver coin, stored in special numbered packaging, is an addition to any numismatic collection and an original and valuable gift – for a graduation, wedding, birth of a child, or just for fun...

The Czech Mint has extensive experience in the production of investment coins (so-called bullion coins). We have been minting gold and silver coins "Czech Lion" since 2017, and they have become popular with investors not only in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, but also in Hungary, Germany, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Canada, and the United States. The world's largest online distributor of precious metals has also requested to include them in its offer. One of the reasons why the Czech Mint's investment coins have so quickly joined the ranks of their famous global counterparts (such as the Austrian Wiener Philharmoniker, Canadian Maple Leaf, South African Krugerrand, American Eagle, Chinese Panda, and Australian Kangaroo) is their low issue cost. While investment coins from foreign mints are minted in the millions, the issue limit for coins minted in the Czech Republic is in the hundreds or thousands. This fact increases the potential for investment appreciation and adds a collector's dimension. Thanks to their artistic design, the coins also make an excellent original and valuable giftfor a graduation, wedding, birth of a child, or just for fun...
