Product description
The Czech Mint introduced a mandala with a motif of love on the first silver medal from the gift cycle for every occasion.
The word mandala comes from Indian Sanskrit and can be translated as a circle. However, its meaning is not so simple. It represents infinity, perfection, balance, unity,… Mandalas are circles made of symmetrically arranged shapes that symbolize masculine energy. Moreover, mandalas also contain colors that represent female energy. Therefore silver medals must not miss colors. The strength of each mandala is hidden in its center, where everything begins and ends, therefore, a glass stone is set in the middle of the medal. Although people associate mandalas primarily with South Asian civilizations, they occur in various cultures, and religious and philosophical systems - just look at the windows of European cathedrals or dream catchers of American Indians. They are suitable for relaxation, meditation and self-knowledge, but also for solving problems or fulfilling desires. Love is desired by many people, therefore, it became the motif of the Czech Mint's first gift mandala.
The obverse side of the medal, made by the young medal maker Kristýna Šánová, bears a colored ornament composed of red hearts pointing towards the glass center. The embossed reverse side of the medal is common to a number of Czech Mint´s mandalas.
The gift medal is an original talisman which you can use to express all kinds of love - from platonic affection to romantic desire.
