Product description
The Czech Mint introduced a mandala with a motif of health on the third silver medal from the gift cycle for every occasion.
The word mandala comes from Old Indian Sanskrit and can be translated simply as a circle. Its meaning is not so simple anymore. It represents infinity, perfection, balance, unity,… The mandala takes the form of a circular pattern with a center point and symmetrically arranged shapes. In addition to the shapes that symbolize the male energy, the mandalas also contain colors that represent the female energy. Even silver medals must not miss colours. The power of each mandala is hidden in its center, where everything begins and ends, so a glass stone is set in the middle of the medal. Although people associate mandalas primarily with South Asian civilizations, their variations occur across time, cultures, and religious and philosophical systems. Just take a look at the windows of European cathedrals or dream catchers of American Indians. They are a tool for relaxation, meditation and self-knowledge, but also for solving problems or fulfilling wishes. Many people wish good health, so the Czech Mint used it as the motif of the third gift mandala.
The obverse side of the medal, designed by the young medal maker Kristýna Šánová, bears a coloured green-blue ornament with a glass center that resembles the look into the kaleidoscope. The embossed reverse side of the medal is common to the whole cycle of mandalas of the Czech Mint.
The gift medal is an original good luck charm. Other mandalas that you can find in the offer of the Czech Mint bear motifs of love and friendship.
