New Technologies

We take great pride in developing new technologies in the field of coin production and are always striving for further innovation. Beside proof and reverse proof finish of the highest quality, Czech Mint offers partial gold and ruthenium plating, patination, precious stones and hand-cut crystal embedding, and application of enamel. A unique security protection – a custom nano hologram – is directly minted into the coin and serves both as a security component and a design feature.

Supplier of Czech circulation coins

Czech Mint has been a reliable partner of the Czech National Bank since its inception in 1993. All citizens and visitors of the Czech Republic can appreciate our work, as we produce the complete range of Czech currency circulation coins with nominal values of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 Czech koruna (CZK). So far, more than 3 billion circulation coins have been minted by Czech Mint. The 50 CZK coin has been voted the most beautiful coin in the year of its issue.

World’s largest milled coin

Czech Mint has produced a gold coin weighing 130 kilograms with a diameter of 535 millimetres for the Czech National Bank. The nominal value of the coin is 100 million Czech koruna in honour of the 100th anniversary of the national currency. The coin was produced as a single piece, and it is not for sale.

The coin broke the world record. It has become the largest milled coin in the world, the largest gold coin in Europe and the second largest gold coin in the world.

This one-of-a-kind Czech treasure was recently presented in the Czech pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.

Nowadays this largest milled gold coin can be adored by visitors in the vault of the Czech National Bank, where the coin is stored.

World record in heavy weights

Since February 2022, Czech Mint has been the holder of a new world record – the largest serially minted gold coin. A truly precious issue was minted – 5 pieces of 10-kilogram 999,9 gold coins, which are part of the Czech Lion bullion coin series. Each coin is provided with our state-of-the-art protection, the ‘Czech Security Check’ nano hologram. This feature is a unique hologram protection, which is directly minted into the coin.

Expo Dubai 2020

Czech Mint introduced itself to the Middle East at the world’s greatest show – EXPO 2020 Dubai.

The shiny display of our coins left visitors of the Czech pavilion in awe. EXPO visitors could also admire the record holding 130-kilogram anniversary gold coin.

Particular attention was drawn to the limited issue bullion coins. Visitors could purchase one of the special edition coins created for this occasion.
